BMX racing tracks

WHAT IS BMX RACING?

BMX RACING has been an Olympic discipline since 2008, with its roots dating back to the 1960s. It involves a simultaneous race of 8 riders on a specially designed and constructed track. Participants, equipped with helmets and protective gear, start the race from a gate positioned at the top of a starting hill. The track length ranges from 350 to 450 meters, and the ride typically takes between 30 to 40 seconds.

SITE REQUIREMENTS

The land designated for the construction of a BMX racing track should be flat or gently sloped. The minimum area required for such an investment is approximately 0.5 hectares (with optimal dimensions of 70m x 110m). Additional space should be considered for supplementary infrastructure such as parking lots, a race office, and support buildings.

To ensure fair competition and an exciting experience for spectators, the width of the track, the length of the first straight, the total track length, and the surface properties are all strictly defined by UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) regulations. At the same time, the type and arrangement of obstacles, the course layout, and the number of turns are flexible and depend solely on the designer. This makes each track unique.

The primary goal in designing and constructing a BMX track is to ensure that it is fast, spectacular, and safe.
